When nature dresses in white
Spend your holidays in one of Bavaria‘s most beautiful natural theatres.
It really is a winter wonderland! A thick, perfectly white blanket of snow coats the landscape, and at no other time of the year is it more tranquil. Experiencing nature in winter is especially intense and diverse.
You can reach the valley station of the Sudelfeld ski resort on foot in about 10 minutes. There, one of Germany‘s very last single chair lifts will take you to the beautifully open and varied ski area also ideal for families. The ride up will probably be a discovery of slowness, allowing you to inhale the surrounding winter beauty. Up on the Sudelfeld all goes at a higher pace with modern chairlifts. After all your whizzing down the slopes, the last ski descent oft he day will take you back down to the valley station, and a short walk will see you close to the tempting sauna. If slow is not an option, then just hop on the ski bus.
Just to make clear all the comforts of the Tannerhof: in only 300 metres you can enter the cross country ski trail and follow over 100 kilometres of perfectly laid tracks. While gliding effortlessly through the winter landscape you might gasp at all its beauty when skiing into secluded valleys, past icy formations of a frozen creek, through silent woods or across snow fields which look as if someone had scattered a bucketful of diamonds across them. Bayrischzell is an eldorado for cross country skiing, and you will find all the help you can ask for from excellent ski schools, if you wish to learn it.
Your children want to learn how to ski? The training slope for the little ones is on the doorstep: The Tannerfeld also has tubing tyres – just in case skiing isn’t fun after all.
How about going sledging? Apart from the Tannerfeld slope, we suggest you choose the classic and go on a winter walk up to one of the alpine huts. There, grab a sled, and off you go… Mariandlalm or Firstalm are really fun.
The Wendelstein ski slopes may be a special treat for skilled skiers according to snow conditions.
Or you might want to try out the Spitzing ski resort for a change? It’s only 15 minutes away.
Ski touring is very popular. The Rotwand region is a classic for all enthusiasts, but also the ski resorts offer special touring routes or evenings.
Or try snowshoeing with one of the guided tours, or just start off from the Tannerhof on your own path.
Ice skating is possible on the surrounding lakes – a beautifully old-fashioned experience. There is also a small ice rink in Bayrischzell.
