How we want to live

The Tannerhof is complicated and confusing, moving between hotel, health, organic gourmet cuisine, art and nature. It does not always want to make it easy for its guests, but neither does it want to make it easy for itself; and certainly not for the tourism experts, hotel classifiers, rating portals and travel portals.

Because what the Tannerhof is with its development is strange, the story lyrical. What it is now is ambiguous, artistic, loving. Vacations, health, therapeutic fasting, 5-course menus, rooms with 9(!) - 36 square meters, hut towers, air huts, high culture, pop, theater, politics and music. Actually, none of this really fits together. But actually, it's also wonderful to like completely different things.

To oscillate between genres and levels, between old and new, high and low. The only thing that is unrealistic is the artificial concentration on a single dimension - "design", for example. On what is often called aesthetics or style in the design hotel industry but means death and is avoided by the Tannerhof like an evening in the Musikantenstadl.

Normality, relaxation, the coexistence of young and old, of loud and quiet, of high spirits and herbal tea. We take that seriously. But not necessarily ourselves at all times. It rubs together, and friction creates warmth, and it is precisely this warmth that exists at the Tannerhof.

Here, the architecture and philosophy of the Tannerhof is finally strict: Chacun à sa façon.

What sounds like a cliché can also be a philosophical statement if you want it to be.

In some respects, the Tannerhof is provocative, simple, almost naïve, loving, quirky, digitally slowed down. It appears reticent and yet radiates SCIENCE FICTION - less is more.

Burgi von Mengershausen says: "There are definitely people who think the Tannerhof is stupid. That's the way it should be. Of course. We think some things are stupid too. But that means that there is a place here that is so open and free that a lot of people come here. There are places and hotels that are very clear and distinct and boring as hell. And then there is the Tannerhof.

We have the feeling that our guests are predominantly happy and most of them know, feel and understand what it's all about and take what they need. And that makes us happy too!"

Where does "HOW WE WANT TO LIVE" come from?

The musician Jan Müller from the band Tocotronic looked after an elderly lady called Elsa Bablitzka during her community service. This developed into a pen friendship.

Mrs. Bablitzka, who died in 1994, had a very peculiar handwriting that looked like a mixture of Sütterlin script and contemporary script. She also wrote with a lot of anger. She was a very angry woman. And a great artist who has unfortunately not gone down in art history. Jan Müller took the quote from these letters by Elsa Bablitzka and we have borrowed it as the headline.

Thank you very much.
