Tannerhof | sustainability matters

Since the very beginnings of the Tannerhof  in 1905 each generation of the Mengershausen family actively committed themselves to the preservation of and respect for nature. Anchored in the belief that we humans can only thrive in a holistic manner when nature is intact. That is why we are very much engaged in protecting our natural ressources and people‘s health alike.

Economy for the common good

"The Economy for the Common Good contributes to a culture of good living in a peaceful and sustainable civilization. [ECG] . It establishes an ethical approach to the economic system based on the wellbeing of humans and nature as the highest goal", says founder Christian Felber.
The Economy for the common good vision: Living well in a world where the economy is aligned with ethical values.

In 2019 we commissioned a peer evaluation together with two other eco-hotels effectively producing our Common Good Balance Sheet. This shows the company's Common Good Score, taking into account various criteria such as Human Dignity, Solidarity and Social Justice, Environmental Sustainability and Transparency as well as Co-Determination.

The Tannerhof score is 571

on a scale of -3500 to +1000 points. We are quite happy about that and very motivated!

How we contribute

Food & Beverage

  • Organic AND regional products as far as possible, controlled by the ecological inspection board ABCERT
  • Wisely chosen exceptions of regional non-organic products

  • We are partnered with Bioland and support Slow Food®
