Economy for the common good

Economy for the common good
"Our current economic system is upside down. Money has become an end in itself instead of a means to what really matters: a good life for all."
Christian Felber
The Economy for the Common Good establishes an ethical economic model. The well-being of people and the environment becomes the primary goal of economic activity. in 2019, together with two other organic hotels, we drew up our first Common Good Compact balance sheet as part of a peer evaluation. Points are awarded (from -3500 to +1000 points) for various criteria such as respect for human dignity, solidarity and justice, environmental sustainability and transparency and co-decision-making.
We are delighted - full balance sheet!
Now we have taken the second step in 2023 and 24 - the first (and more demanding) audited full balance sheet. Again together with our friends from the Biohotel Villa Orange in Frankfurt and with Sandra Wacker from Helden Atelier as a certified public welfare supervisor.
The first complete post-corona year 2022 was certified and we are delighted with an honest result of 404 points!
What does that mean? If you achieve 0 points in a full balance sheet, it means that you comply with all legal requirements. With our 404 points, we are in the "Experienced" range.
