Uschi's local shop, farm shop, village shop - whatever name you prefer, it is surely the most charming place to treat yourself to something special: beautiful organic clothing, jewellery, special little pieces, beautiful gifts, wonderful organic cosmetics, Tannerhof souvenirs, organic coffee & tea from partnered companies… you could spend hours choosing from the lovingly composed variety.
Opening hours: Monday, Wednesday and Friday: 10:30 to 13:30 & 17:00 to 19:00 o'Clock.
The Kneipp basin
Great for cooling off in hot Summers! Or share the neighbouring stream with our Runner Ducks…
The majestic lime tree
This magnificent tree has five stems, and guards the Tannerhof on it's outer right boundary. From up here you have a wide view of the Leitzach valley. Try sitting or standing in the midst of the five powerful stems, and gaze at the crown up above. There is a swing on the lower branch - come, be a child again! Or choose one of the benches - what a place to just sit and stare or ponder on life…

The rock pond
With the helping hands of guests my great grandparents had hewn a rock pool into the mountain above the Tannerhof. A little bell was rang further below by advancing hikers so that the naked swimmers could hastily clad themselves in a towel or bathrobe. Unfortunately over the decades the pool filled with rocks and gravel. A couple of years ago Roger built a rock pond below the original pool. A charming open air shower, a wooden platform, and the stream endlessly supplying the pond with fresh water makes this one of our most beautiful recluses. The bell, by the way, is still there.
This is your hotspot for all the relaxing & invigorating water treatments. On top, enjoy the engaging atmosphere of matured timber, beautiful tiles and elegantly contrasting concrete bathtubs.

The Neue Tann
After buying the vacant farmhouse Tannerhof in 1904, the great grandparents immediately started constructing an additional main building, the Neue Tann. Here you will find the Kammerl (Chambers) and the Tannerhof Rooms. Also, the sauna is not far from here.
The four dining rooms are located in the old farmhouse building Alte Tann. The timeless and pure Bavarian farmhouse style is thoroughly inviting: low ceilings, hand-painted furniture, the typical bench along the walls, an old cockle stove in the fasting room. Here, you will dine in the atmosphere of old Bavarian farmhouses, each dining room seating about 25 guests. One is for those fasting, one for our low carb dieteers, and two for our full board guests.

Please come in!
Straight to your left you will find die reception - and a warm welcome by our friendly staff. Most probably you will not have seen many such warm and homely receptions before.
The Alte Tann
The heart of the Tannerhof. Your entry to your holiday home. Accompanied by the homely scent of pine wood and the crackling noise of burning wood in the cockle stove on cold days. This is also where the restaurant, the shop and the reading rooms are.
The historic building - best visible from the front - was first mentioned in the 15th century. Originally there was a byre adjacent to the main building. In 2011 the reconstruction and extension of the Alte Tann took into account the original, and historic dimensions of rooms, hallways and room heights. And a second floor was added on top of the ancient building. Here, older and younger construction casually meet.
The artists studio
The light falling onto the mountains, nature's colours, the finely moulded landscape - the studio is the place where all these impressions are bundled into creative power. Join the arts classes with Nele von Mengershausen, or book the studio just for yourself, and see what lies within you…
The health & wellness wonderland: hydrotherapy, fango, massages, beauty treatments, the fitness studio, and of course the medical office. Lots of wooden tiling, elegantly shaped concrete tubs, natural light, and a surgery with classic furnishing making for a warm atmosphere.
The fitness studio
Situated on the second floor you will have the inspiring - and empowering - views of the mountains through the panorama windows. Well equipped as it is, the Tecno-Gym Crosstrainer is only one of the highly professional workout devices.
Our sauna is truely special. One of the oldest in Germany this quaint sweating lodge was built in 1936. Besides the electric stove there is a real wood burning stove for the good old and pure sauna feeling which the vast sauna landscapes lack these days. Added by a second, milder sauna of 50-60°C with fragrant Kelo wood there is a choice of both really hot and… hot. Lovingly decorated with matured wood, historic tiles and characteristic lighting.
The relaxation area lives up to its reputation. No disturbing exits to the outside interrupt your dreaming, gazing into the landscape or dozing off into relaxed sleep. And you will be kept nice and warm by the old Bullerjahn wood firing stove.
The swimming pool
Located behind the Orangerie you will be swimming with views of both the landscape and of life taking place in this spacious area. Measuring 8x12 metres you might want to count up to 40 lanes - then you've managed 500m! Or try the aqua gym in the mornings for an invigorating start to the day. The panorama painting by artist Nele v. Mengershausen who spent many years in the US shows a beautiful canyon landscape.
Considered soberly the Orangerie is just the shortest way from the Alte Tann to the Bathhouse. However, it is so much more: a light-flooded space in which the inside and outside become one due to the floor to ceiling panorama windows and doors. This is a magic place for contemplation, enjoying coffee and tea specialities or home made cakes, playing games, reading or having interesting conversations with other guests.
The reading rooms
Tranquility, the scent of matured wood and books, cosy sofas and arm chairs, low ceilings, historically small windows - this is the perfect place to indulge in a good book or daily papers.
Concert Hall & Gym
Yes, this room fits all: the daily gymnastics, T'ai Chi, Yoga etc. take place here but it truely is the heart of Tannerhof culture - our renowned concerts or literary readings. Gazing up into the wooden ceiling construction one is put in mind of a barn building.
No heart without a soul - which would be our Bechstein, the grand piano has often put a special character to cultural events.
Neighbouring the lounge this unique bar has found a second determination after its first life as a furnishing in a general store. Clemens Büntig dressed it with urban scenes from the Leipzig Train station painted on wooden boards.
Gaze into the open fire, enjoy a glass of wine, and once in a while be so kind and feed the fire with a new log. Sit back in the abundantly cushioned sofas, have a good conversation, play a vinyl or the good old juke box. This is such a warming place.
