Everything under one roof
We also work with the Agatharied Academic Teaching Hospital, which provides diagnostics for gastroscopy, colonoscopy, cardiac catheterisation, and cardiac MRI (a non-invasive examination of the coronary arteries and heart muscle). The radiology practice in the same building offers all imaging procedures at the highest level.
Good to know
The minimum recommendation is five fasting days, since the transition and refeeding days (going from "100 to almost zero" and back) place particular demands on the body. For first-time fasters, 7 days of fasting plus 2–3 days of refeeding (around 10 days in total) has proven optimal. Anyone fasting for health reasons should aim for at least 10 fasting days.
The refeeding day begins symbolically with an apple ("breaking the fast"): each bite should be chewed 30–40 times, to ease the stomach and digestion gently back into solid food. Refeeding should last roughly one third of the fasting period. Eat slowly and consciously, notice how intensely everything tastes, and gradually return to your usual diet.
And afterwards? If your goal is a sustainable change of diet, it would be lovely if you had a few more days. You could continue learning to eat intelligently with the Low Carb "Schlanke Tanne" for a while. An individual nutrition consultation may also be worthwhile.
We generally recommend one of our fasting arrangements, since these already include all medical consultations and accompanying treatments.
The "Schlanke Tanne" is designed as a sustainable change of diet. There is no fixed end date — it aims at long-term integration into everyday life ("Schlanke Tanne at home"), so that weight reduction, metabolic activation and lasting dietary success without the yo-yo effect can be achieved. We recommend at least 5–7 days.
We recommend our Low Carb arrangements (Small, Medium, Large): they include all the essential treatments — lymphatic drainage, contrast affusions, intestinal cleansing — to support your "Schlanke Tanne" diet optimally.
If, however, you would prefer the nutrition programme alone, you may also book individual treatments à la carte — in that case, each treatment will be billed separately.
The recommended arrival days are Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday, and they correspond to our practice's consulting hours. The intake consultation should take place on the day after your arrival.
- On the day of arrival, you'll receive a vegetable plate for dinner.
- Fasting itself begins on the day after your arrival, with the medical intake appointment, after which you'll receive your Glauber's salt.
This way, you start fasting in a clear and well-supported manner.
At the Tannerhof we practise exclusively Buchinger therapeutic fasting.
If you're not yet ready for fasting, our Low Carb "Schlanke Tanne" Intervall is a fitting alternative.
Fasting is undertaken exclusively under medical supervision. Your intake appointment on the 1st fasting day determines whether fasting is suitable for you. Therapeutic fasting is generally not advisable in the case of:
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding
- Eating disorders or uncontrolled overweight
- Severe chronic conditions (e.g. unstable cardiovascular problems, untreated type 1 diabetes)
- Acute infections or high fever
