FAQ

General

Check-in & check-out times

Check-in is guaranteed from 3:00 PM, and check-out is by 11:00 AM at the latest.

You are of course very welcome to arrive earlier and start enjoying the Tannerhof. On departure day, lunch is still included, and you may continue to use amenities such as the pool and sauna until 5:00 PM. Early check-in and late check-out are available subject to availability and an additional charge.

Train arrival & shuttle

Bayrischzell railway station lies about a 15-minute walk from the Tannerhof. Our shuttle service is happy to collect you there and bring you back on departure day. Please inform reception of your arrival time the day before, and note that pickups are only possible until 6:00 PM at the latest.

The nearest taxi company is in Schliersee; the in-house shuttle service is available only for arrival and departure by train.

Parking and EV charging

Free outdoor parking is available, along with three EV charging points. Charging electric vehicles is currently billed at €0.45 per kilowatt-hour charged.

Do you have storage and charging facilities for e-bikes?

In our charmingly rustic ski and bike shed, you can charge your bicycles, warm your ski boots or park your pram.

Can bicycles and skis be rented at the hotel?

For ski rental, our Bayrischzell specialists "Sportalm" and the Sudelfeld ski school are happy to advise. Bicycles can be hired at Sportalm.

May I smoke?

The Tannerhof is a non-smoking house. This applies to ALL terraces and balconies as well. There is a smoking corner; please ask at reception about the smoker's bench.

Is the hotel barrier-free?

Owing to the hotel's hillside location, the entire grounds are not barrier-free. The main houses can only be reached by stairs. For this reason, a stay is unfortunately only conditionally suitable for people with limited mobility.

Are children allowed?

For guests with children, the Tannerhof is suitable only if you intend to spend time with your children. The Tannerhof is free of distractions like bouncy castles, playrooms, childcare, televisions and Wi-Fi. Children at the Tannerhof need adults to read to them, walk with them, lead them. People who open eyes and point out nature. People who stand still, listen quietly and marvel.

During the high season for fasting, our attention turns particularly to our fasting guests. Fasting cures usually go hand in hand with a heightened need for quiet. We therefore ask for your understanding that, from January through Easter, we cannot accept family bookings with young children up to the age of 8.

In all other months, we very warmly look forward to welcoming you and your family at the Tannerhof.

Is there Wi-Fi in the rooms?

Wi-Fi is available in all rooms except the cabins and towers. If needed, mobile Wi-Fi routers can be borrowed at reception.

Are dogs allowed?

Dogs are not permitted in the main houses of the Tannerhof. In three of our "Lufthütten" (open-air cabins) and one of our (Bachturm) Hut Tower, however, you may stay with your loyal companion — please ask about availability. For this option we charge €20 per day and a final cleaning fee of €50.

Cuisine

What is the "Three-Quarter" Half-Board?

Organic of course — wherever possible. And seasonal. And as regional as we can manage. Why? Because we are convinced that forward-looking food must be good for people, animals and the environment. Not quantity but quality. We orient ourselves by the Planetary Health Diet. Vegetables are the star! Fish or meat is served on three to four days a week. "You eat what comes to the table!"

We live sustainably and so we keep things in the French manner: one menu du jour. And it has everything in it: love, freshness, dedication. And time. Your meal is cooked à la minute. Slow Food. No convenience cooking, no microwave, no reheating.

With "Three-Quarter" Half-Board, the day starts with a small, carefully composed breakfast buffet; midday brings Soup'n'Salad; in the evening the kitchen team prepares a three-course menu; on Friday or Saturday a five-course Slow Food tasting menu is celebrated.

What does Buchinger Therapeutic Fasting mean?

Fasting does not mean a zero diet — it is a conscious, time-limited abstention from solid food and stimulants. With a varied selection of teas, vegetable soups and broths, freshly pressed juices made from the finest fruit and vegetables, and possibly buttermilk or sojade, Tannerhof fasters enjoy their meals — and are often in the best of moods.

Fasting at the Tannerhof is always medically supervised, and you should set aside at least one week for yourself. Optimal arrival days for your Tannerhof fasting period are Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday.

What does Low Carb – "Schlanke Tanne" mean?

"Schlanke Tanne" — "Slim Fir," the name we give to low-carb eating here at the Tannerhof — for losing weight, kick-starting the metabolism, activating fat-burning. Or as an alternative to Tannerhof fasting, when you're not quite ready for full conscious privation. Or when you've been indulging in "Three-Quarter" Half-Board for a few days and need a small counterbalance.

The "Schlanke Tanne" comes in two forms here — either "Schlanke Tanne" Intervall (just a drink in the morning, then two meals: lunch and dinner) or "Schlanke Tanne" Drei with breakfast, lunch and dinner.

More information at Low Carb — "Schlanke Tanne".

Do you accommodate vegetarian or vegan cuisine?

If you'd like vegetarian fare (with or without fish), please let us know when you reserve. Vegan cuisine is unfortunately not possible. The "Schlanke Tanne" is available in vegetarian form only with fish.

Restaurant Pool

Yes — so that even pleasure-loving guests from the surrounding region and beyond can taste what we put on the table. Slow Food enjoyment in Bayrischzell. Spatially, "Pool" sits in our orangery, next to our indoor pool. Hence Pool. A relaxed place. More information at Restaurant Pool.

Spa

How big is the swimming pool?

Our indoor pool measures 12.5 × 6 metres and has a water temperature of 27°C.

Our natural pool at the Badeharpfe measures 25 × 5 metres and ranges from 22°C to 26°C in summer, depending on the sun, and between 0°C and 4°C in winter — ideal for ice bathing.

How many saunas are there?

In our rustic sauna lodge, two saunas await you:

  • 1 classic dry sauna at 90°C
  • 1 mild kelo-pine sauna at 60°C

plus shower and quiet room.

In the new Badeharpfe you will find:

  • 1 Finnish panorama sauna at 85°C

plus lockers, showers and a quiet room with a view.

Is a day spa possible?

For a beautiful day off, book the "Tannerhof Day" at €99, including use of the pool and sauna, participation in the daily programme, and a "Schlanke Tanne" Low Carb lunch.
