Winter outdoor activities around the Tannerhof
The beautiful surroundings of the Tannerhof. Right outside the front door.

The special Tannerhof location
The Tannerhof sits in Bayrischzell, surrounded by mountains — between Wendelstein, Rotwand and Schliersee. In a valley that opens up — to silence, movement, vision. Just an hour from Munich, but far from anything that's noisy. Not a place you pass through, but one you arrive at. A place that creates the frame for unforgettable moments — and for everything waiting outside, right outside the door.
Winter Activities

Cross-Country Skiing
Winter leaves traces — and you follow them. In Bayrischzell, on around 100 kilometres of groomed trails. Classic or skating. From easy meadow runs to the sporty Route 36. Across the valley, over altitude, through quiet forests and along sparkling streams. DSV-certified. Extensive. No lifts. Just you, the trail and the crunch of snow.
Skiing
It's the curve that counts, not the kilometres. Sudelfeld in Bayrischzell isn't a mega resort — it's the charming, original ski area on our doorstep. Around 31 km of groomed pistes, set in striking mountain scenery between 850 m and 1,563 m, offer something for everyone: wide family slopes, sportier runs, and a modern lift system with 5- and 8-seater chairlifts plus 12 button lifts and magic carpets. The new Sudelfeldkopf 8-seater takes you straight to sun-soaked heights. And if you want to explore further: in just 15 minutes, you're at the Spitzingsee ski area — another snow paradise just around the corner.

Ski Touring
Skins on, off you go — no lift required. Bayrischzell offers signposted ascent routes, like the classic Rosengasse-Vogelsang tour at Sudelfeld or more demanding routes up Rotwand and Hochmiesing. They start almost at the door, climb through quiet forests and end at cosy mountain huts. Freedom on two skis — and the silence of the mountains, included.
Snowshoeing
Nothing slows down quite like snowshoeing — and nothing clears the head quite like it either. Two signposted routes near Bayrischzell lead through white forests and across quiet meadows: the leisurely Geitau tour for getting started, and the Wendelstein tour — demanding, beautiful, with sweeping views. If you want to go higher, book a guided tour to the Seewand or Lacherspitz. All deep snow, no pistes, no bustle. Just step by step — through winter.

Tobogganing
Two runners, one mountain — and off you go. Real natural toboggan runs await around Bayrischzell. The Wildalpjoch-Wendelstein tour brings switchbacks, speed and views — 7.6 km and 400 m of altitude, panorama at the top, endorphins at the bottom. Slightly shorter, just as beautiful: the Mariandlalm loop through the Trockenbach valley. Sun, snow, and hot soup at the destination. Or the classic Sillberghaus run — 2.4 km through snow-laden forest, less traffic, more peace. No lifts, no tickets. Just a sledge. And the feeling of being a child. Once again.
