Mental Resilience
When the world gets loud, the body needs quiet – not just in the mind, but in the nervous system.

Wind down. Breathe.
Find your footing again.
Mental strain rarely lives "in the head" alone. It shows up in your sleep, your breath, in tension and gut feeling – and in a nervous system that's been on alert too long.
Mental Resilience combines medical orientation, focused coaching, and body-based therapy (breathwork and bodywork) to help your system find its way back to regulation.
Calming the
nervous system
Regulating
stress responses
Strengthening
inner resources

The three principles at work
1. Power down
Settling the stress system – deepening the breath, easing body tone, building healthy sleep pressure.
2. Reorder
Activating inner resources – clarity, boundaries, priorities. (Coaching, reflective and resource-oriented.)
3. Stabilise
Integrating stability – small routines that stick: breath, movement, recovery, transfer to everyday life.

What's included
Tailored treatments and a well-practised team of trusted specialists work together here – calmly, precisely, in tune with each other. The result is a path to greater wellbeing that doesn't just hold for the moment, but stays with you. Today. And in the long run.
In the medical history and examination, your current state of health and your medical background are carefully gathered. Together we clarify your personal goals and derive the appropriate measures from them — a sound, clear foundation for tangible relief and lasting well-being.
Mental therapy sessions support you in strengthening inner resources, making sense of strain and opening up new room to act. Depending on your needs, we work in a psychologically reflective and holistic way — on request also with elements drawn from nature or art therapy.
The Tannerhof "Dreivierteltakt" ("three-quarter time") is more than classic half-board: a thoughtful breakfast in the morning, a light snack buffet (Salad'n Soup) at midday, a served three-course menu in the evening. Certified organic, regional and seasonal, prepared with craft. Three days a week vegetarian, the others varying with fish or meat as the main course; cheese on request.
A gentle, physiotherapeutic and holistic method aiming at complete relaxation and physical lightness. Soft stretching, rolling and rocking convey a sense of being held, inviting the unconscious to let go.
The craniosacral system is a fine pulse system of cerebrospinal fluid. The treatment harmonises this rhythm and helps release blockages within the body. The autonomic nervous system, hormones and immune defences are strengthened, and tinnitus or sleep disturbances may also improve.
This very gentle treatment offers the breath impulses to unfold. Your own breathing is allowed to settle, guided by the therapist's hands. Vegetative stress states dissolve; you experience deep stillness and inner well-being.
Head, neck, back, abdomen, legs, feet, arms, hands — everything is massaged with care, tension is loosened, adhesions are released. Beyond that, every massage also has positive effects on psyche and immune system.
Various essential oils and herbal extracts make wonderful bases for compresses — an old remedy revived.
Towards the end of your programme, our medical team reviews the course of your stay, contextualises results and gives you clear, individual recommendations for the time after. The aim is well-founded orientation — so that what you've achieved continues to take effect. And lasts.

Frequently asked questions about the Mental Resilience programme
Mental Resilience is for people facing prolonged stress, sleep disturbance, mental exhaustion, or the sense that the nervous system simply isn't winding down anymore. Common reasons people come: pre-burnout, depletion after an intense life phase, sleep problems, persistent inner restlessness, or trouble switching off. A medical consultation at the start clarifies whether the format fits. Not suitable: acute psychiatric crises, severe depression, or ongoing inpatient psychiatric treatment – in those cases please discuss first with your treating clinician.
The programme follows three phases: Wind down, Re-sort, Stabilise. The first day brings the medical consultation. In the early days, breath therapy, the Trager method and craniosacral work lower physical tone and deepen breathing. The mental therapy sessions clarify resources, boundaries and priorities – psychologically reflective, optionally with nature or art therapy. The final days build routines that travel home with you: short breath exercises, movement sequences, clear time structures. The closing medical consultation reviews what's changed.
The mental therapy sessions are 60- to 90-minute one-to-one conversations with an experienced coach or therapist. We work psychologically and resource-orientated – not in acute-crisis mode, but in sorting, contextualising and reorienting. Where it fits, we integrate elements of nature or art therapy. The 5-Day Basic includes two sessions, the 8-Day Advanced three. You choose your coach in consultation with our team – Trixi Wolfseher (psychotherapeutic), Birgit Holzwarth (nature), Petra Reindl (communication) or Nele von Mengershausen (art).
Stress rarely sits only in the head – it shows up in sleep, breathing, muscle tension, gut feeling, in a nervous system that's been on alert too long. Breath therapy after Herta Richter, the Trager method and craniosacral work reach places that words often can't: they lower physical tone, release vegetative stress states, and guide the system back into 'rest and digest'. Combined with the mental sessions, the regulation lands in the whole system – not just in thought.
During Mental Resilience the Tannerhof 'Three-Quarter' Half-Board runs alongside – a small, considered breakfast buffet, a light salad-and-soup midday, and a three-course menu in the evening. Organic-certified, regional and prepared by hand, three days vegetarian. Vegetarian preferences welcome on request.
The 5-Day Basic starts at €995, the 8-Day Advanced at €1,250 – each a programme package, excluding accommodation. Included: the medical history-taking and examination, the closing consultation, two (Basic) or three (Advanced) mental therapy sessions, breath therapy after Herta Richter, the Trager method, craniosacral therapy, a classic full-body massage, and an aromatic body wrap – plus the Tannerhof 'Three-Quarter' Half-Board. Accommodation, further diagnostics and additional treatments are billed separately.
Five days are enough to release acute pressure, calm the nervous system measurably and lay down first routines – a good choice if you're short on time or coming for the first time. Eight days allow more room for integration: an extra mental session, more repetitions of breath and bodywork, and crucially time for changes to settle. If you're under sustained stress or want a deeper reset, you'll typically take more out of the eight days.
In the closing consultation we collect the routines that worked for you: a short morning sequence of breath and movement, a clear sleep hygiene, firmer pause structures in the day, a realistic way of handling stimulus density (screens, news, appointments). Many guests plan a booster stay three to six months later to deepen routines or work on new themes. Where useful, we can suggest contacts for ongoing outpatient support – coaching, psychotherapy or naturopath.
Yes – quiet movement is part of the regulation. Walks in the Bavarian mountains, slow hikes, aqua gymnastics and yoga are ideal and support the calming of the nervous system. High-performance sport and very demanding tours go against the aim of the programme – the nervous system should be winding down, not getting more aroused. Our weekly programme includes guided hikes, aqua sessions and movement formats that suit this phase.
