Which Room for Your Fasting Week: From the Kammerl to the Hüttenturm
How the right room choice carries your fasting week – from the pared-back Kammerl to the Hüttenturm on the hillside.

At the Tannerhof, choosing your room is a matter of substance, not just price. From the plain Kammerl through the Hüttentürme and Lufthütten to the rooms in the Alte and Neue Tann, every faster finds the right setting for their own retreat.
Key points at a glance
- The deliberate retreat of the Kammerl: on eleven square metres the mind focuses entirely on the essentials and on turning inward.
- Hüttentürme and Lufthütten on the hillside offer complete closeness to nature – with no distraction from Wi-Fi or television.
- Choosing a room is a decision of substance: it sets the physical and mental frame for your Body Detox Heilfasten.
- A low-stimulus environment deepens the experience by minimising distractions and encouraging inner arrival.
The deliberate retreat: the pared-back Kammerl
Whoever chooses to fast chooses to leave things out. At Naturhotel Tannerhof we therefore see the choice of room not as a mere question of price, but as a decision of substance that actively shapes your personal path of retreat. The spaces we dwell in shape our thoughts, especially in phases of physical and mental clearing. If you want to shed the ballast of everyday life radically, the Kammerl in the Neue Tann offers the purest frame for this healing process.
On just eleven square metres, the Kammerl reduces living to the essentials. Here you find no loud decor, but fine, tactile materials, warm wood and a concentrated stillness. A comfortable bed, a table, a chair, an armchair and just enough room for a single suitcase – no more is needed to feel your way to your own centre. This radical simplicity frees the mind from constant consuming and supports deep physical regeneration during the fasting period.
- Consistent reduction to eleven square metres of living space in the Neue Tann
- Plain, honest furnishing with a bed, table, chair, armchair and space for a suitcase
- A deliberate choice against a television in the room, to let the mind come to rest
- Bookable, if you wish, with a small private wooden terrace or a cosy wooden balcony
This deliberate simplicity is no painful sacrifice, but a deep breathing-out for the over-stimulated nervous system. Without the usual visual distractions, the small room becomes a protective cocoon that deepens the effect of our Body Detox Heilfasten programme in a natural way. Whoever closes the door behind them leaves the outside behind and steps into a space that belongs entirely to their own being.
Retreat on the hillside: Hüttentürme and Lufthütten
Choosing the right room is, during Body Detox Heilfasten, far more than a question of budget. It forms the substantive foundation for your personal path of regeneration. On the wooded hillside above our historic ensemble lie two categories that accompany this time-out intensely: the modern Hüttentürme and the history-steeped Lufthütten.
Our four Hüttentürme, designed in 2011 by the architect Florian Nagler, rise gently from the mountain meadows. Their building principle follows our deep respect for the landscape: verticality instead of sealing the ground, built from fragrant solid wood and native larch shingles. Inside, pure clarity surrounds you across three levels. Ceiling-high glass doors open the view over the wide valley, while a private outdoor seat connects you directly to the rush of the forest.
Only a few metres further on, you breathe living history. Our five Lufthütten from the founding year of 1905 form the cradle of the Tannerhof fasting tradition. Conceived as single or double cabins, with their private verandas they stand for that untouched, rustic character which once inspired and grounded the pioneers of the life-reform movement.
Both categories demand and grant freedom in equal measure. Since they sit on the hillside, short climbs across the terrain are part of daily life: a natural, healthy activation for heart and circulation on the way to meals or treatments. Here, too, the deliberate principle of the analogue retreat applies: in the cabins and towers we do without Wi-Fi and television consistently. What for some is the very essence of a restful digital breather may for others be a deal-breaker. We value both perspectives, yet whoever embraces this open space often finds exactly the stillness in which fasting first unfolds fully.

| Accommodation | Character & setting | Suitability for fasters |
|---|---|---|
| Hüttentürme | Modern timber architecture across three levels, 26 m², sweeping valley view. | For all who seek timeless aesthetics and the shelter of a wooden refuge on the hillside. |
| Lufthütten | Historic wooden cabins from 1905, 16–22 m², private veranda, close to the forest. | Perfect for traditionalists who want to feel nature directly and seek the radical retreat. |
Alte Tann, Neue Tann, Baumallee: rooms with history
Choosing your room for a deliberate time-out is, at the Tannerhof, far more than a mere decision of price. It is rather a question of which space best supports your individual path of retreat during the Body Detox Heilfasten programme. Whether historic beams or vivid colours, every building on our expansive grounds carries your personal regeneration in its own way.
The heart of our ensemble is the Alte Tann, a venerable single-ridge farmhouse from the seventeenth century. Here you find Almzimmer that radiate a deep, grounding calm with their old-wood floors, soft linen curtains and rustic arbour balconies. A deliberate counterpoint is the Neue Tann, our charming turn-of-the-century house. The Berge-&-Seen-Zimmer there rely on a cheerful play of colour on the walls, fine oak parquet and lovingly chosen farmhouse furniture that brightens the inward gaze.
Whoever seeks a fine balance of retro charm and modern comfort will find it above the Orangerie in the stylish Baumallee-Zimmer. Named after native tree species such as spruce or beech, these rooms captivate with a unique design flair of colourful Missoni textiles and historic design armchairs. From the generous west-facing balconies, a wide view opens over the Leitzach Valley in the evening, letting the day fade quietly.
- Almzimmer in the Alte Tann, with their historic old-wood floors and the rustic shelter of a centuries-old farmhouse, give a sense of permanence.
- Berge-&-Seen-Zimmer in the Neue Tann offer a bright, inspiring living feel through natural oak parquet floors and a clear, colourful design.
- Baumallee-Zimmer combine stylish retro design across two levels with a west-facing balcony for relaxed evening hours in the valley's mild light.

Paths, nature and a deliberate break from the network: criteria for fasters
Retreat begins in the mind, but it finds its concrete place within your own four walls. Whoever chooses Body Detox Heilfasten selects their accommodation not by status, but by resonance. Experience from fasting practice shows the deep power of this reduction: in a low-stimulus, protected environment the feeling of hunger often eases more quickly too, as body and mind come to rest. The architecture thus becomes a therapeutic companion for the inner clearing process.
Very personal needs play a part in this decision. While some guests shy away from the physical demand of longer hillside paths and prefer short routes to the treatment rooms in the main houses, others seek deliberate seclusion. This includes the matter of connectivity. In our cabins and Hüttentürme we deliberately do without Wi-Fi, LAN and, as standard, television. What for some is a valuable gift of the digital retreat is for others an obstacle. We respect both paths equally.
- Physical paths across the terrain: do you prefer short, level routes between meals and treatments, or do you value the small climb on the hillside as the day's first impulse to move?
- Connectivity and focus: would you like a discreet Wi-Fi connection in the historic main houses, or do you seek the radical, screen-free simplicity of open nature?
- The logic of booking: at Naturhotel Tannerhof you always book your room and your chosen health programme as two separate building blocks. On our overview page for the rooms at the Tannerhof and on the programme pages, you can put together your very own time-out entirely individually.
